Estimadas/os Visitantes:

Acceso desde la base del C° Catedral: Parte baja (primeros 5 kilómetros) Sendero despejado y transitable. Sector medio (entre el cruce de senderos y Piedritas): Sendero despejado. Sector superior (desde Piedritas hasta el refugio): Sendero despejado. Precaución al último cruce de arroyo.

El tiempo estimado para el ascenso varía según la capacidad física, calculándose entre 4 y 6 horas. Se recomienda comenzar a caminar antes de las 10 a.m.

A continuación, les brindamos algunas recomendaciones:

Para ascender al refugio Frey es imprescindible contar con el siguiente equipo: botas de trekking, abrigo (remera térmica, buzo polar/micropolar, campera de pluma/sintética, campera de lluvia y muda de recambio). No olvidar la linterna frontal.

El acceso desde Lago Gutiérrez está despejado y con buena transitabilidad general.

Llevar radio VHF y botiquín de primeros auxilios.

Realizar el registro de trekking gratuito y obligatorio en el sitio web oficial de APN: www.nahuelhuapi.gov.ar o en www.clubandino.org/registro-de-trekking.

Sumamente importante verificar el pronóstico meteorológico en https://www.windguru.cz/377964 antes de subir o reservar en el refugio.

Access from the base of Mt. Catedral: Lower section (first 5 kilometres) – trail clear and passable. Middle section (between the trail junction and Piedritas) – trail clear. Upper section (from Piedritas to the refuge) – trail clear. Use caution at the last stream crossing.

Estimated ascent time varies depending on physical condition, ranging between 4 and 6 hours. We recommend starting the hike before 10 a.m.

Below are some recommendations:

To climb to Refugio Frey it is essential to bring the following equipment: trekking boots, warm clothing (thermal shirt, polar / micropolar fleece, down / synthetic jacket, rain jacket and a change of clothes). Do not forget a headlamp.

Access from Lago Gutiérrez is clear and in generally good condition.

Carry a VHF radio and a first aid kit.
